First Business Web App
Following on from the release of Winframe/Winview thin client solution, it was quickly realised that some intense functionality was not handled well sitting on OS2.
James lelyveld ( https://www.linkedin.com/in/james-lelyveld-497a04 ) self taught HTML at the time and working in partnership with me produced a web front end to a legacy database client. This was no mean feat. No other business system existed at the time within BT, and the API's to feed the pages were design, written and delivered from scratch. SOAP etc was unheard of.
In today's technology people may think "so what", but I can tell you this was at the time cutting edge, and lead eventually to a contract win with Reuters which eventually helped form the delivery mechanism of MPLS as a product that is used for the backbone of the internet.
Hats off to James for this! My contribution of ownership of the platform is secondary, but still something I was proud to be involved with.
